Multimedia Installation (Boom!)

Here’s a short video of I’ve been meaning to post of a Multimedia Installation I showed last spring at Mass Art in Boston, MA

See the video

The video is a little dark but the installation is a presence controlled landscape. The landscape usually burbles along with some ‘fire’ and sound until a visitor gets closer and then it jumps into overdrive, with howitzer shells going off and more. Part of the fun is watching the spectators and seeing if they learn the rules of the interactions.

I’m thinking of building a larger installation outside that incorporates some of these ideas. A friend of mine has found a perfect outdoor spot in a park, now we just need to find some funding…

As some people have been asking me about this, I wanted to note that this is not a projection onto a flat screen, but rather an immersive 3d environment that is being project onto.

The effects created are very different that watching a movie. Its more of a sculptural feeling.
