Subversion and TortoiseSVN Source Control
May 20th, 2005 by jbloom
What a great team so far.
I’ve been a user of Microsofts’ Visual Source Safe for a long time, and in the process of setting up my new office I decided to give Subversion a try.
I was using VSS for so long since most of my development was inside Visual Studio. Since then though I have been doing a lot more stuff with code and files of various origins. ActionScript, XML, CSS etc. These files bear no allegiance to Source Safe.
So far everything is working great and I can work on the road with my Laptop or at home at the comfort of my dual monitors and both systems have a nice control system built right into the Windows Explorer. That is the TortoiseSVN part of the setup.
Big thanks to the developers of and contributors to both applications as well as Tigris.org
